Born and raised in Plainfield NJ, Muhlenberg Hospital in 1968. Mark proudly attended Plainfield High School where he graduated class of “86”. He has 2 older brothers, Glenn and Rufus Moton and 1 older sister Linda DM Rivers. Mark and his family, wife Sujata Moton, his 3 sons, Mark Jr, Jayden and Jordan Moton currently reside in Hunterdon County for over 25 years.
Mark attended Kean University where he achieved an undergraduate’s degree in Business Management and minored in Computer Science. He later went on to acquire his Master’s Degree in Information Systems from Stevens Institute of Technology. Mark works for Johnson and Johnson providing 32 years of service where he holds the role of Director, head of Acquisitions, Divestitures and Remediations for Technology Quality.
Throughout his 32-year career at Johnson and Johnson, Mark held numerous roles, including Senior IT Manager overseeing Financial Systems at Corporate Headquarters, Senior Program Manager overseeing ERP deployments, Senior IT Project Manager deploying critical systems for the Supply Chain Sector, SAP Manufacturing support IT Lead overseeing shop floor technologies to name a few.
Mark strongly believes in giving back to the community, helping others achieve their full potential when possible. He continues to achieve this goal through various activities. He works with a local group called Black Families of Flemington where they partner with the Flemington school board to ensure Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the kids of Hunterdon Central high School. Mark frequently visits Kean University to talk to the incoming freshmen and graduation students of color about career choices and planning. Mark visits Plainfield high school and speaks to the Juniors and Seniors about the importance of preparing for college and staying focused on making the right decision to be successful in life. He donates his time to various youth organization to talk about his career path looking to inspire others to be successful along their journey.
Mark enjoys Football, Basketball and Track & Field sports. He’s an active motorcycle enthusiast riding every chance he gets. He enjoys traveling, relaxing and the enjoyment of life as he knows our time on this earth is limited and tomorrow isn’t promised.
Mark holds a role of 1st Vice President of the first NAACP chapter in Hunterdon County where he proudly represent NAACP in his efforts to fight the good fight.
Most recently, Mark has joined the Mentforlife Board to support the goal of transforming higher education through meaningful mentorship and caring connections.
